The Six-Point Napkin Plan.
Sometimes project planning feels like the opening ceremony of the Olympics:
trumpets,
50-slide PowerPoint decks,
mission, vision, strategy, roadmaps, timelines,
…and that sense we’re already one step from success.
Then life happens.
The client changes. Priorities shift. Budgets get “adjusted.”
And that beautiful presentation? It goes into a drawer, because… now we have to do things differently.
And then someone walks in, grabs a napkin and a pen, and writes down six points in five minutes:
– What we’re doing
– Why we’re doing it
– Who’s responsible
– When it needs to be done
– What we need
– How we’ll know it works
Done.
Suddenly everything is clear.
People know where to start and what really matters.
No extra noise, just direction and decisions.
I’m not saying big presentations are bad.
I’m saying sometimes the best plan fits on a napkin.
Because it’s not about looking impressive.
It’s about working.
